  2.                FastEcho Credit Card Registration

  5.   I. Introduction
  6.  
  7.      This application  is for registering FastEcho by VISA credit
  8. card for users outside of Canada.  All others should refer to the
  9. appropriate registration file.
  10.  
  11.      As explained  in the  documentation  accompanying  FastEcho,
  12. there are  two levels  of registration:  a 'point licence', and a
  13. 'node licence'.  The  node  license  includes  full  support  for
  14. AreaFix processing and downlinks; the point license does not.
  15.  
  16.   II. Registration Fees and Payment
  17.  
  18.      The registration  fees (in  US dollars)  are $25  for a node
  19. license and $15 for a point licence.
  20.  
  21.   III. Sending Your Registration
  22.  
  23.      You have  several options  for sending your registration ap-
  24. plication. You  may use  either conventional mail, netmail, or by
  25. calling the  Quantum Leap  BBS and  registering on-line.  In each
  26. case, the  form in  the following section should be completed and
  27. sent.

  29.     A. Mail

  44.      You may  send your registration form and VISA information by
  45. netmail to the Quantum Leap BBS at the following addresses:

  47.                FidoNet: 1:340/30, 1:340/31, and 1:340/29
  48.                Note that 1:340/30 is the primary address, and
  49.                while both 1:340/30 and /31 will minimally be
  50.                V.32bis capable, /29 runs beta modems whose
  51.                capabilities differ from time to time.
  52.

  56.                Quantum Leap is also a node in both Intelec and
  57.                U'NI-net. Generally, if possible, the FidoNet
  58.                address should be used.

  60.     C. On-Line
  61.  
  62.      Alternatively, you  can register by calling the Quantum Leap
  63. BBS directly  at (604)595-4407  [supporting  up  to  H16/V.32bis]
  64. (604)595-8489 [supporting  up to V.32bis], or (604)595-2553 [this
  65. number will  get a  line  which  minimally  supports    2400  bps
  66. (V.22bis), although it is used to beta test modem hardware and it
  67. may have additional capabilities from time to time :-)]

  69.      The Quantum Leap BBS will allow you to log on under the name
  70. GUEST with  no password. This account will take you to a menu al-
  71. lowing you  to register FastEcho on-line. [While at this time the
  72. system will not process a credit card application and issue a key
  73. while you  are on  line, this will probably be implemented in the
  74. future.]
  75.  
  76.      Please note the following:
  77.  
  78.     1. Do not, under any circumstances, send your credit card
  79.         information by  routed netmail.  For obvious reasons,
  80.         such information  should only be sent by direct mail.
  81.         Please ensure  that your  routing  control  file,  or
  82.         other bits  of software or configuration on your sys-
  83.         tem, cannot  result in  routing such a message in any
  84.         way, including  through a  Zone Gate.  Note that many
  85.         mailers will by default route messages which are des-
  86.         tined out  of your  local net.  Again: for  your  own
  87.         protection, all  credit card  information  should  be
  88.         treated with  care. If  you are  in any  doubts about
  89.         your mailer's behaviour, it is advisable to watch the
  90.         message being  sent and  see which number your system
  91.         is actually dialing.

  93.     2. This system  will honour Return Receipt Requests (RRQ)
  94.         flags.
  95.  
  96.     3. If the  number you  are calling  from to  register via
  97.         credit card is not the number you list as one of your
  98.         system or  voice numbers  in your  application, or if
  99.         you have  caller  ID  information  blocking  enabled,
  100.         please indicate  this in  your netmail  or  while  on
  101.         line.
  102.  
  103.     4. If you  are not  the  cardholder  against  whose  VISA
  104.         account your order is being charged, (for example, if
  105.         it is  an account  held by  a company, a spouse, or a
  106.         parent), please  ensure  either  that  you  have  the
  107.         authority to charge purchases on the account, or that
  108.         a person  who has  such authority actually places the
  109.         order.

  111.   IV. Getting your key
  112.  
  113.      If you  register on-line  or via  netmail, leaving  either a
  114. valid netmail  address or  a phone  number for  a system  that is
  115. running an  FTN compatible mailer, your key will be file attached
  116. direct from  the Quantum Leap BBS. If you use a FidoNet node num-
  117. ber, please  ensure that  your node list entry is correct. If you
  118. are in any doubt, check with your NEC.

  120.      If you are not in FidoNet, but are running an FTN compatible
  121. mailer which  will accept incoming messages with file attachments
  122. from systems which are not listed in your local nodelist, you may
  123. indicate your  system telephone  number, and  I will  file attach
  124. your key in a message to your system.

  126.      If you  wish to  obtain your  key from the Quantum Leap BBS,
  127. you may  indicate a   password  in the registration form below. A
  128. user account will be created using that password and your name in
  129. the form  !firstname lastname. [For example, if your name is !Sue
  130. Jones, an  account will  be created with the name !Sue Jones.] If
  131. you log  on using  that name  and the password supplied, your key
  132. will be  automatically down-loaded  to you.  Note that  the  !Sue
  133. Jones account  will have no options or access to the system other
  134. than to automatically download your key. As well, once the key is
  135. successfully down-loaded, the !Sue Jones account will be deleted.

  137.      However, a  second account  will be  created under your name
  138. without the  ! character.  (In this  example,  Sue  Jones.)  This
  139. account will allow you conventional access to the BBS, and if you
  140. wish to  obtain product  support and upgrades via BBS access, you
  141. should supply a password.

  169. for example,  a wife  might use  her  credit  card  to  charge  a
  170. FastEcho key  for her husband's use. In this case the name of the
  171. husband would  appear directly  below, but  the name  of the wife
  172. would appear in the Cardholder portion of the VISA section.]

  174.      Finally, by  placing this  order I  agree that, for the pur-
  175. poses of  the payment  of the registration fee only, the relevant
  176. law is  the law  of British Columbia, Canada, and in placing this
  177. order I  accept and  consent to the jurisdiction of the Courts of
  178. British Columbia,  Canada with  respect to  any and  all  matters
  179. arising from  the payment  of the registration fee. For all other
  180. purposes I understand and agree that the choice of law provisions
  181. as set forth in the FastEcho licence agreement are determinative.
